Joan
Crow has been a member of the UCD Symphony since 1982/83 and
has played violin since she was nine. She is a UCD alumna who graduated
in 1986 with a B.S. in design and minor in music and was formerly the graphic
designer for the Department of Music. Joan lives in Davis with her husband
Allan and their two children along with two yellow labs, two leopard geckos,
and an occasional fish. She enjoys playing in the symphony, planning adventurous
trips and hikes for her family, training her dogs, being a mom, and making tile
mosaics (but not necessarily in that order).
Joan and her long-time stand partner, Clairelee, have a bet to become the "oldest" stand partners in the string section, having sat together now for 24
years.
