Derek Kwan
somehow found his way into the UCDSO in the
winter quarter of
the 2004-2005 season and has playing percussion with it ever since. He
hails from Fresno, California and is a double major in music and math.
Outside of performing with the orchestra and vairous chamber groups, he
enjoys exploring the wonderful world of jazz playing vibes. When he's
not
engaged in school-related business, he enjoys falling in sleep on the
floor
or in front of a computer, snacking on various food items, drumming on
anything and everything, worshipping the amazing (AMAZING! he says) Pat
Metheny, being incredibly lazy, and weirding out whoever he encounters
in
his daily activities.
