Matthew Wong is an aspiring biologist and bassoonist. His previous playing experience is rather limited compared to some other illustrious musicians in the UCDSO, limited to only the San Jose Youth Symphony, Santa Clara County Honor Band, and various high school and college ensembles. Notwithstanding the lack of experience, Matt is still a talented musician and hopes to bring the music he plays to life. The music of the great composers certainly helps him achieve this goal. On the non-musician side, Matt is a senior at UC Davis majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular biology with a minor in Quantitative Biology and Bioinformatics. Music and Biology don’t have very much in common; despite this, he still enjoys both subjects. In the future, Matt hopes to be a researcher in science, hopefully somewhere in the area of Genetics. Either that, or snowboarding somewhere in Canada.
